A National Seminar “Information Technology and the Demand of Industry” was organized April 23, 2011 at Dr. Akhilesh Das Auditorium, by Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions (BBDGEI), Lucknow which is one of the leading Group of Educational Institutions for providing high class Technical and Professional Education in North India. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta in year 1998. Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta is Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, National General Secretary Bahujan Samaj Party Ex-Union Minister of State–Steel Government of India. BBDGEI has setup an unbeatable benchmark in the field of Education in its last 12 years. BBDGEI consists of four colleges in one campus at Lucknow having excellent infrastructure and about 12000+ Engineering students of various disciplines.
The demand for Information Technology (IT) professionals has grown many folds in the last decade. Parallel to this increasing need for IT personnel, runs the continuous change in the skills that are brought about by innovations in cutting edge technologies. Innovations in computing hardware, software, and networks will continue to drive the need for skilled IT workers that can use latest technologies to offer novel business solutions. Expertise needed by companies in the new millennium is expected to change as new technologies are introduced and led into the market. However, current expertise needed by companies is a good indicator of the types of IT skills that future IT professionals should possess in order to survive in a competitive world. For young generation to shape their career and make themselves ready to face the future challenges of employability, an enlightenment of knowledge and wisdom was essential for the students to get an inspiration to excel not only in the academics but also focus to groom their overall personality to become proud of our nation.
Mr. Sanjay Mehta, CEO, MAIA Intelligence presented talk on real world experiences on entrepreneurship. The objective Tech Fusion was to identify the types of expertise needed by students to penetrate the industry and assist the future professionals reach their true potential. Other key speakers included Dr. Manish Gupta, Director & Chief Technologist, IBM Research India, Prof. (Dr.) Rajib Mall, Professor, Computer Science & Engineering IIT Kharagpur (Well known author of the book “Fundamentals of Software Engineering”- Prentice Hall of India) and Prof (Dr.) Himanshu Rai, Professor, Human Resource Management, IIM Lucknow and Convenor of CAT 2010.
