Creating a Server

Data Manager consist three options:

Authorized user can create a server.

Following information is required for adding a server.

Add Server

Following are the main properties of server.

Server Name

Defined name such as Access Server etc.

Server Description

Detail description about the server defined if required.

Select Domain

This has been defined from Domain Manager.By default, default domain is selected.

Select Backend  for the Server

Very important property of the server.You can select from the available list with covers almost all the backends.

User Name

This is required in case of  RDBMS like Oracle , SQL Server etc.

Password

This is required in case of  RDBMS like Oracle , SQL Server etc.

Select Database

Any back end can have multiple databases so here user must select the database from which report needs to be generated.

Host Name

Host name the name of the server domain. For oracle specify service name instead of domain name.

for example:ORCL

Edit Server

Authorized user will be allowed  to edit the existing server.

Delete Server

Authorized user will be allowed  to delete the existing server.
